Every man carries around a mental picture of his ideal woman, the woman that he wants to marry, the woman of his dreams.
There seems to be a trend emerging for American and Canadian men preferring to go outside of there home countries in order to find love, and commitment. Today, beautiful foreign brides can easily be found on a variety of mail-order websites, and internet dating sites. The modern method of choosing a wife on line, is almost effortless, in fact; there is a plethora of resources available on line, where a man can pick and choose the woman of his dreams in just a few keystrokes. Whether the man finds the woman of his dreams through a dating site, or hand picks her from a series of photos from a web-mail-order catalogue, the process of actually getting acquainted begins the same way, with a series of emails, and instant messages.
The woman of his dreams –
The Communication Stage and Falling in Love - His:
- He already knows that she is beautiful and sexy because he picked her by her picture; he is attracted.
- During the internet communication stage, conversations soon reveal that she is warmly, responsive to him; he is titillated.
- The woman is sweet, alluring and seems to know all the right things to say; he is intrigued.
- He discovers that she is an intelligent, hard working professional, with a strong religious upbringing; he is impressed.
- She is a woman of moral character; she has high family standards, values and traditions; he trusts.
- She wants to be the traditional wife, and of course; she believes in being subservient to her husband; he is thrilled.
- She looks up to him, she is impressed with his accomplishments; he feels like a man.
- He can help her, by offering her a better life; he feels empowered.
- She expresses her gratitude to him, for rescuing her; he pictures himself as her Champion.
He’s hooked without ever having seen her, touched her, smelt her; he has already fallen hopelessly in love; she has skillfully evoked the image of the “perfect woman,” in his mind; she is the epitome of the woman of his dreams…
The Relationship Evolves:
The interim between first conversations and the actual meeting varies from case to case, depending on individual circumstances. As time progresses, the couple discusses their dreams and plans for the future. No doubt, by the time the meeting occurs the man has had many fantasies about the life that he and his foreign bride will have. He is giddy as a school girl, full of life, and excitement. He abounds with hope that the beautiful woman he has hand picked will fulfill every ideal that he has ever had about what marriage should be like.
He can hardly believe his good luck; this beautiful perfect creature wants to share a life with him. Communications become more and more intoxicating, the excitement of the unknown builds, as does the sexual tension until the man, either agrees to bring the woman to his country, or he travels to hers for the first meeting. They can no longer wait to see each other, for the first time.
She is even more beautiful then he imagined. The rush of love is over whelming; romance is in the air. He has never felt this way before; she says that she feels the same way about him. The couple finally meets, their eyes lock, she lowers hers, she blushes, flips her hair then snuggles into him; he melts, has never felt so comfortable. They have a romantic weekend interlude that rivals a James Bond love scene. Pheromones fly, endorphins spark, nerve ends tingle, hearts race; she affirms that he is the man of her dreams, and she can’t wait to begin their new life together. He wants to give her the world.
After all of his bad relationships with all of the wrong women, suddenly, as if by magic, all of his dreams are about to come true. He flies home to America to make all of the arrangements, and he cannot stop thinking of her. Their separation only intensifies the feelings that he has already had a taste of. He can hardly stand the wait that he has to endure, while the immigration paperwork to goes into effect. As soon as he can possibly make the arrangements, they are wed because he never wants to live another day without the woman of his dreams… To be continued - Part II – The Joys of Married Life?
