From Bust to Bingo!

Shelly was a lonely divorcee with two children. One of those people that hated being single. She was a traditionalist, to her; bliss came in the form of a husband, hearth and home. Determined to find someone to share her life with she tried the bar scene, where she had minimal success. She scored a couple of dates, but none of them amounted to much. One of them even turned out to be a felon, a car thief, to be exact. He ended up stealing from her; not her car, but money and jewelry. Shelly was completely disillusioned with the dating scene, but she refused to give up, she hated being alone.
Taking pity, her friends tried to help; they set her up on a few blind dates that turned out to be utter disappointments. She would have considered men from her church, if there had been any there under the age of seventy or over the age of twelve. Weekly, she scanned the men in the supermarket, and even met someone once, but it didnt last; he was unemployed and looking for someone to support him.
Shelly was becoming increasingly depressed; she was beginning to think that she was one of those desperate women. So, she was thrilled when at a party for a co-worker, she met the man of her dreams. He was a bit older, but he was a fox, a silver haired fox, he was devastatingly handsome, worldly, he was dripping with money and his demeanor exuded class; he simply, took her breath away.
Roy lavished her with caviar, champagne and roses. Her life was suddenly and exciting whirlwind of plays, fine restaurants and elite social clubs. There were long weekend getaways at the finest resorts, and he even took her to Europe. He gave her gifts, mostly consisting of impeccable jewelry. The cavalcade of parties and presents went on for several months until, as suddenly as it all started, it evolved into the cold hard reality of cancelled dates, followed by weekends and holidays alone; she was more alone than she had ever been before.
The sad truth was, Roy was married. When they had first met, Roy had told Shelly that he planned on leaving his wife, but after a while his wife suddenly became very ill, and under those circumstances it was impossible for him to leaveyada, yada, yada. Any woman that has been involved with a married man has heard that same old song and dance. Shelly was forced to face reality; this wasnt what she wanted; it wasnt what she wanted at all.
Shelly tried, unsuccessfully, to escape the emotionally dependent relationship that she had allowed herself to be sucked into, but like quicksand, time after time, Roy kept pulling her back in with promises of leaving his wife. Finally, she had to accept that it was never going to happen. She also came to the realization that the only way to get him to leave her alone was if she became seriously involved with someone else. She was afraid, and with good reason. She had already tried all of the traditional ways of finding her soul mate, and it hadnt happened. Sick of the turmoil, and tired of crying herself to sleep all those long lonely nights, Shelly turned to the only avenue that she hadnt explored; she entered the world of internet dating.
Immediately, Shelly was amazed, to find an endless chain of potential dates right at her finger tips, and after a smattering of various dates, she met her one and only. They chatted for a while, and got to know each other online first, and then the all night phone conversations came next. They found that they had a lot in common, so much to talk about; she had all but forgotten Roy. When they met it was love at first sight, and within six months they were married. I am happy to announce that they have been married ever since. Not too long after the wedding, Shelly and Phil bought a house together, and started their own daycare center. The couple settled into their traditional roles in a traditional life. There is one untraditional thing that is worth mentioning, though; Phil was a few years younger than Shelly, but she didnt let that get in the way of real love. Congratulations, Shelly and Phil for successful internet dating!
